Motrin miracles: How to reduce painful arthritic flare-ups with Motrin

Arthritis is a disease that is prevalent in over 20 million American men and women. A joint disorder that features inflammation and swelling in joints, there are over 100 different types of arthritis of which the most common are osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Osteoarthritis is a common condition caused by aging or degeneration of joint tissues, while rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease caused by an overactive immune system.

Osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis: Osteoarthritis is a degenerative type of arthritis marked by mild to severe pain in the joints. It occurs when the cartilage, which acts like a cushion between bones, breaks down and degenerates to cause inflammation in joints. A higher incidence of osteoarthritis is found in males above 45 and females above 55. Rheumatoid arthritis occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks the cells in joints, resulting in pain and inflammation in joint tissues. Many NSAIDs are used in the treatment of arthritic pain. Motrin is one such NSAID that is used to treat mild to moderate arthritic pain.

Motrin in treatment of arthritic flare-ups: Motrin, a type of ibuprofen, is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug used to relieve mild to moderate pain of all sorts. This includes arthritic pain, headaches, menstrual cramps, juvenile arthritic pain etc. As a non-steroidal drug, Motrin works by inhibiting the action of hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body. The drug is available over the counter and by prescription. However, for arthritis it is advised that patients take Motrin only after consultation with a doctor. It should be remembered that Motrin is not a cure for arthritis and it can only relieve the pain from the disease.

How does Motrin work? As a NSAID, Motrin controls the action of inflammation-inducing hormones called prostaglandins. By blocking the action of prostaglandins, the drug reduces pain related to bones, muscles, tendons, inflamed areas and joints. It also alleviates fever, swelling and pain in joints. Sometimes the drug is used off-label to treat fibromyalgia symptoms, gout symptoms, chronic fatigue syndrome, lupus symptoms, migraines and cramps of  every kind.

Motrin dosage tips: Motrin interacts dangerously with a lot of drugs and hence should not be taken continuously without a doctor’s advice. It is better to use the drug only during arthritic flare-ups or severe pain instead of making it a daily routine. Better to avoid any NSAIDs, especially Motrin, if you have the following conditions: liver diseases, kidney disorders, heart ailments, lupus, asthma, nasal polyps, hypertension or any allergic reactions to Ibuprofen, aspirin or similar drugs like Naprosyn etc.

PLEASE NOTE : OnlinePharmacyForum.Com recommends personal consultation with a doctor. The dangers in buying medications online include the online drugstore selling counterfeit, expired or contaminated medications to you. Sometimes the drugs that you receive may have been prepared by unethical means or using unusual substances. This is why you should buy drugs from a licensed and FDA-approved pharmacy; after consulting with a doctor and getting a valid prescription.
